OTHER IMPORTANT INFO

  • Chong Bong means "top of the mountain," which was the nickname of Master Jay Hyon.
    • He founded the Karate Center (now World Martial Arts Center) in Minneapolis, MN in 1965.
    • He also created the Chong Bong forms.
  • The Kingdoms of Korea are Silla, Paekche and Koguryu.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
  • The colors are red, white and blue.
  • In the upper left corner there is a blue field, containing 50 white stars representing the 50 states.
  • The 13 stripes (7 red, 6 white) represent the 13 original colonies.
  • RED signifies hardiness and valor
  • WHITE signifies purity and innocence
  • BLUE signifies vigilance, perseverance and justice
  • It is believed that Betsy Ross made the first American Flag
  • Frequently called the Star Spangled Banner, Stars and Stripes, Old Glory, the Red White and Blue

KOREA
  • The colors are red, white, blue and black
  • The circle in the middle is called the Taeguk
  • The line dividing the taeguk is called the Key
  • There are 4 sets of 3 bars in each corner
    • 3 Solid represent Heaven
    • 3 Broken represent Earth
    • 2 Solid, 1 Broken represent Fire
    • 2 Broken, 1 Solid represent Water
  • The Korean flag represents purity and harmony.
